In this LAB, I have SW1 and SW2 are connected to each other on the Ether21 and Ether22 interfaces. I want to do bonding between the 2 interfaces. Those switches have the following OS installed on them:

• SW1: SwOS
• SW2: RouterOS

Configuring bonding on RouterOS we already know because we have seen it in this course. However, I will repeat it again in this LAB to be like a refresher for you.

Let’s start configuring bonding on the SwOS switch which is SW1:

You need to go to the LAG tab which is the abbreviation of Link Aggregation Group then you go to ports Ether21 and Ether22 and make then active then click on Apply All.

We go to SW2 and we enable Bonding but this time using the RouterOS.

Let’s see if the bonding has been formed:

Here we go, we have an “R” and this means that the bonding is running. Bottom line, you don’t need to have 2 SwOS switches to make bonding, you can use another switch with RouterOS or even another vendor as well and the bonding would work.
